About this space
Enjoy a big beach on the Potomac River waterfront in this simple duplex with the Chesapeake Bay on the horizon. As a modest rural residence, furnishings and finishes are basic, reflected by affordable prices. Active groups enjoy this home with scuffs and scratches from normal wear (even after thorough cleaning). Steep steps on the attic stairway to the second bedroom are better for flexible or athletic guests. Watch for sea nettle jellyfish and mosquitos in warm months.
The space
Living room, dining room, and kitchen are connected with waterfront views. There is only one full bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. The bedrooms are in the rear wing, with multiple beds in each room. The main bedroom has two full beds (4 people). A connected room has two sets of double bunk beds (4 people). The other bedroom is upstairs with two full beds (4 people). This home shares one wall with the duplex next door, with no access between units. All rooms are on the ground level except the attic bedroom, with steep stairs especially with the bathroom on the ground level.
The porch is a wood deck on the beach in view of the volleyball court. The shared pier or dock is to the right of the beach. Parking is on the driveway to the north, opposite the beach to the south.
Guest access
You get exclusive access to this house, attached porches, and parking. The pier and beach are shared by other guests, including nearby houses. Guests are welcome to explore our entire 1000-foot-long beach to the edges of our property, while respecting neighbor privacy. Some of our neighbors have young children, so we do our best to protect their tranquility 🙂
Other things to note
This modest house is prepared for limited cooking and hosting. Bring your favorite flavors and scents of kitchen or bathroom products.
Fish and crab from our pier or dock. The government (MD DNR) visits sometimes by car and by boat. For questions, search “Maryland Fishing License”.
Fire must be in the grill or fire pit, away from wood decks, structures, and the house. An alert, competent, sober adult must constantly monitor a fire.
We usually have hand soap, dish soap, and generic shampoo/conditioner/body wash.
In some cases, tenant full names and employment details are required.
